The cover design is based on Garden Flowers, by Chen Chun (1483-1544). Chen was a Ming dynasty artist who favoured the more freestyle method of ink wash painting where black ink is used in different concentrations. The intention of this technique is to depict the spirit of the subject rather than simply reproducing its appearance.
